Ferrari Introduces LaFerrari

March 16 2014

Ferrari finally revealed the successor to the Enzo at Geneva this week. It's called "LaFerrari" which means "The Ferrari". Ferrari's chairman Luca Cordero de Montezemolo says he called it "LaFerrari" because it's not "a Ferrari", its "The Ferrari". Many people have criticized the name but enough of that, let's get to the facts.

Like the Enzo, LaFerrari is a limited edition car. Only 499 will be produced and each will cost $1.3m. LaFerrari is Ferrari's first hybrid car and is fitted with Ferrari's HY-KERS setup which combines a 6.3L V12 and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission coupled with an electric motor. This setup is what helps the car produce 950hp.

With an all carbon fibre body and technology adapted from Formula 1, here are the numbers it can achieve:

- 0 -100km/h in less than 3 seconds

- 0 - 200km/h in under 7 seconds

- 0 - 300km/h in 15 seconds

Top has not been revealed but Ferrari suggests its over 350km/h (faster than the McLaren P1)

Ferrari said it has received more than 700 requests for LaFerrari and will have to carefully choose 499 true Ferrari collectors. Check out the official launch video below!
